What a central AC installation involves
A central AC installation is two pieces of equipment working as one. We recover refrigerant from the old system, remove the outdoor condenser and the indoor air handler or coil, then set the new equipment on a level pad and a proper platform or stand. New line set or a flushed and pressure-tested existing one, new whip and disconnect where needed, a fresh condensate drain with a safety switch, and a thermostat that talks to the new controls. Then we evacuate the lines, weigh in refrigerant and commission the system with gauges on it.
What we check and install along the way
We check the things that shorten a new system's life before we install it. Duct sizing and static pressure, because an undersized return will starve a new coil. Insulation and leakage at the plenum and boots. Drain routing and slope, which matters a great deal in slab homes and older condo closets where a clogged line finds drywall fast. Electrical breaker size and wire gauge. Return air location. If the duct is the real problem, we say so rather than bolting good equipment onto bad airflow.
How we decide replacement is the right call
We start with repair. A bad capacitor, a failed contactor or a leaking evaporator coil is often worth fixing, and air conditioning repair keeps a sound system running for years. Replacement makes sense when the compressor is gone, when a leak is in a buried line set, when the system runs constantly and the house still feels damp, or when repair cost stacks up against equipment that is near the end anyway. We show you what we found and let you decide. No pressure either way.

How long does a central AC installation take?
Most single-system changeouts run one full day. Jobs that need duct modifications, a new drain route or electrical work can stretch into a second day. We tell you which one yours looks like before we start.
Do I have to replace the indoor unit too?
Usually yes. The outdoor unit and indoor coil are engineered as a matched pair, and mixing a new condenser with an old coil causes airflow and refrigerant problems that show up as poor humidity control.
Will a new system fix the humidity in my house?
Often, if the old one was oversized or short cycling. Correct sizing and adequate run time pull moisture out. We measure the house rather than matching whatever tonnage was there before.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill out the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a clicking outdoor unit, water on the floor. Details help us load the right parts before we drive out.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical side, refrigerant behavior, and the coil. Coils foul fast in coastal air, so we look there early. You get the finding in plain language before work starts.
- Step 3
Repair and verify
We make the repair, then run the system and watch it. Supply temperature, drain flow, amp draw, and how the house actually feels. If the fix needs a follow-up part, we tell you that day.

Why homeowners call us
- Humidity gets equal weightCold air alone is not comfort. On slab homes and older condos, a system can hit temperature and still leave the rooms clammy. We look at run time, airflow, and drainage so the house dries out instead of just chilling.
- Coastal wear is expectedSalt air chews condenser fins and contactors. We check for corrosion, weak capacitors, and fouled coils as part of the diagnosis, because in this region those are causes rather than afterthoughts.
- Heat gets attention tooFurnace repair, heat pump reversing valve trouble, and heat strip failures all come through in the cooler months. Georgia homes lean on heat harder than Florida homes, and we service both ends of the region.
- No mystery invoicesYou hear what failed, what it takes to fix, and what we found nearby that may fail next. If a repair does not make sense on an old system, we say so instead of stacking parts on it.
- All major brands, gas & electricCarrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York and more, as an independent company.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
