AC Repair — Book a Visit Today

We handle air conditioning repair on residential systems across Florida and Georgia, from a unit that runs all day without cooling to one that will not start at all. Most calls come down to a failed capacitor, a bad fan motor, a low refrigerant charge from a leak, a clogged drain shutting the system off on a safety switch, or a compressor that will not pull in. A visit starts with what you are seeing, then we check the thermostat signal, electrical components, airflow, and pressures, and we tell you what failed and what the repair involves before we start. If your AC is down, turn the thermostat to off so the indoor coil does not freeze, then call us and give us the address and what you hear.

AC Repair — residential AC being serviced

The AC symptoms we hear most

  • It runs constantly but the house never gets cool Low refrigerant from a leak, a dirty outdoor coil, or a compressor losing capacity
  • The outdoor unit hums and then shuts off Failed start or run capacitor, seized fan motor, or a compressor drawing hard on start
  • Air is blowing but it feels warm Outdoor unit not running, tripped breaker on the condenser circuit, or contactor failure
  • There is water on the floor near the air handler Clogged condensate drain, rusted drain pan, or a frozen coil melting off
  • The house feels clammy even when the thermostat is satisfied Oversized system short cycling, low airflow, or a system running with restricted charge

Whether you call it air conditioning repair, air conditioner repair, air conditioning service or AC repair, the work is identical and so is the quote you approve first.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1 Check the thermostat: fresh batteries, set to cool, and the setpoint below the room temperature.
  • 2Look at your electrical panel for a tripped breaker on the air handler or outdoor unit and reset it once. If it trips again, stop and call us.
  • 3Change the filter if it is grey and loaded. Restricted airflow freezes coils and stalls cooling.
  • 4Clear grass clippings, leaves, and shrub growth back from the outdoor unit so it can move air.

AC Repair — quick answers

My AC quit overnight. Should I wait until morning to call?

Call when you notice it. We schedule emergency AC repair by how hot the house is getting and who is home, and Florida and Georgia summer nights do not give a slab house much relief. Turn the thermostat off so the coil does not ice up.

Why does my AC freeze into a block of ice?

Ice on the indoor coil or the line set usually means airflow or refrigerant. A loaded filter, a failing blower, or a closed-off return starves the coil, and a low charge from a leak does the same thing. Shut the system off and call us.

Can you just add refrigerant?

Refrigerant does not get used up, so if a system is low there is a leak somewhere. We locate it, tell you what the repair takes, and fix the leak before charging. Topping off without finding the leak means you are back down again in weeks.

Is a bad capacitor a real repair or a temporary patch?

It is a real repair. Capacitors are a normal wear part and Gulf coast heat is hard on them. When one fails the compressor or fan motor cannot start. We replace it and check motor amp draw to be sure the motor itself is not the reason it failed.

How do I know if the compressor is the problem?

We check it, because a compressor that will not start looks exactly like a failed capacitor or contactor from the driveway. We test the electrical components first, then the windings and pressures. Replacing a compressor is a bigger decision and we walk you through it.

Do you repair systems in older condos?

Yes. Closet air handlers, short line sets, and shared drain lines in older buildings all come with their own headaches, and we work on them regularly. Tell us the building setup when you call so we bring the right parts.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill out the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a clicking outdoor unit, water on the floor. Details help us load the right parts before we drive out.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical side, refrigerant behavior, and the coil. Coils foul fast in coastal air, so we look there early. You get the finding in plain language before work starts.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then run the system and watch it. Supply temperature, drain flow, amp draw, and how the house actually feels. If the fix needs a follow-up part, we tell you that day.

Why homeowners call us

  • Humidity gets equal weightCold air alone is not comfort. On slab homes and older condos, a system can hit temperature and still leave the rooms clammy. We look at run time, airflow, and drainage so the house dries out instead of just chilling.
  • Coastal wear is expectedSalt air chews condenser fins and contactors. We check for corrosion, weak capacitors, and fouled coils as part of the diagnosis, because in this region those are causes rather than afterthoughts.
  • Heat gets attention tooFurnace repair, heat pump reversing valve trouble, and heat strip failures all come through in the cooler months. Georgia homes lean on heat harder than Florida homes, and we service both ends of the region.
  • No mystery invoicesYou hear what failed, what it takes to fix, and what we found nearby that may fail next. If a repair does not make sense on an old system, we say so instead of stacking parts on it.
  • All major brands, gas & electricCarrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York and more, as an independent company.
  • Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
