What the installation involves
A mini-split has two parts. An indoor head mounted high on a wall or in a ceiling cassette, and an outdoor condenser on a pad or wall bracket. We drill one small penetration through the wall for the refrigerant lines, drain and control wiring, then sleeve and seal it against water and pests. Condensate has to go somewhere sensible, which on a slab home often means a small pump and a run to the exterior. Electrical gets its own dedicated circuit and disconnect.
What we check and install
Before anything is mounted we measure the room and calculate the load in BTU rather than guessing from square footage. Oversized heads short cycle and leave the air clammy, which matters in a humid climate. We look at wall construction, where the studs fall, sightlines from the street, drainage slope, and how far the line set has to travel. Then we set the outdoor unit with clearance for airflow and service access, commission the system, and check refrigerant charge, drainage and temperature split before we leave.
How we decide a mini-split is the right call
Sometimes it is not. If your ducted system is the real problem, adding a head to one bedroom just hides a duct leak or an undersized return, and we will tell you that. A mini-split earns its keep when there is no duct path, when a room has its own heat load like a west-facing addition or an enclosed porch, or when a condo layout makes central equipment awkward. We walk the space with you, look at the existing AC first, and recommend whichever fix actually solves the comfort complaint.

Can one outdoor unit run more than one indoor head?
Yes. Multi-zone systems pair one condenser with several heads, each with its own thermostat control. It works well when rooms are used at different times. We size the condenser to the combined load, not to the room count.
Will a mini-split handle heating too?
Most do. The same equipment reverses to provide heat, which covers the cool snaps we get across Florida and Georgia. If you need heating repair on an existing system, we handle that as well.
How visible is the indoor head?
A wall head sits high on the wall and is roughly the size of a long shallow box. Ceiling cassette and slim ducted options are less noticeable. We discuss placement before drilling anything.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill out the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a clicking outdoor unit, water on the floor. Details help us load the right parts before we drive out.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical side, refrigerant behavior, and the coil. Coils foul fast in coastal air, so we look there early. You get the finding in plain language before work starts.
- Step 3
Repair and verify
We make the repair, then run the system and watch it. Supply temperature, drain flow, amp draw, and how the house actually feels. If the fix needs a follow-up part, we tell you that day.

Why homeowners call us
- Humidity gets equal weightCold air alone is not comfort. On slab homes and older condos, a system can hit temperature and still leave the rooms clammy. We look at run time, airflow, and drainage so the house dries out instead of just chilling.
- Coastal wear is expectedSalt air chews condenser fins and contactors. We check for corrosion, weak capacitors, and fouled coils as part of the diagnosis, because in this region those are causes rather than afterthoughts.
- Heat gets attention tooFurnace repair, heat pump reversing valve trouble, and heat strip failures all come through in the cooler months. Georgia homes lean on heat harder than Florida homes, and we service both ends of the region.
- No mystery invoicesYou hear what failed, what it takes to fix, and what we found nearby that may fail next. If a repair does not make sense on an old system, we say so instead of stacking parts on it.
- All major brands, gas & electricCarrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York and more, as an independent company.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
