What a gas furnace installation involves
The old furnace comes out first, gas line shut off and disconnected at the valve, flue separated, electrical isolated. Then we set the new cabinet, connect supply and return plenums, run the gas piping and check it for leaks, tie in the condensate if the unit produces it, and reconnect or replace the venting. Thermostat wiring gets sorted at both ends. We fire it, watch the burners through a full cycle, and check temperature rise before we start putting tools away.
What we check and what goes in
We measure the home and the duct system rather than matching the BTU rating on the old data plate, because oversized furnaces short cycle and leave rooms uneven. We inspect the return path, the filter slot, the flue for corrosion or improper slope, and the gas supply for adequate size. Where the ductwork is leaking into an attic or crawlspace we say so. New equipment includes the furnace, a proper filter arrangement, safety controls and any venting or gas work the install requires.
How we decide replacement is the right call
A cracked heat exchanger ends the conversation, since that is a combustion safety issue and we will not keep running the unit. Beyond that we weigh age, the cost of the repair against the cost of a new furnace, how often you have called for furnace repair, and whether parts are still available. Sometimes the answer is a repair and another few seasons of service, and we will say that. If you smell gas, leave the building, call 911 or your gas utility, then call us.

How long does a gas furnace installation take?
Most straightforward changeouts run a single day. Jobs that need new venting, gas pipe resizing or duct modifications can stretch into a second day. We tell you which one you are looking at before we start.
Can I keep my existing ductwork and thermostat?
Often yes. We inspect the duct system for leaks, crushed runs and undersized returns first, since a new furnace pushed through bad ducts still heats unevenly. Most thermostats carry over fine.
Do I need a gas furnace, or is a heat pump enough?
In much of Florida a heat pump handles winter fine. Farther north in Georgia, and in homes already piped for gas, a gas furnace makes more sense. We look at your climate, your existing piping and your comfort complaints.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill out the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a clicking outdoor unit, water on the floor. Details help us load the right parts before we drive out.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical side, refrigerant behavior, and the coil. Coils foul fast in coastal air, so we look there early. You get the finding in plain language before work starts.
- Step 3
Repair and verify
We make the repair, then run the system and watch it. Supply temperature, drain flow, amp draw, and how the house actually feels. If the fix needs a follow-up part, we tell you that day.

Why homeowners call us
- Humidity gets equal weightCold air alone is not comfort. On slab homes and older condos, a system can hit temperature and still leave the rooms clammy. We look at run time, airflow, and drainage so the house dries out instead of just chilling.
- Coastal wear is expectedSalt air chews condenser fins and contactors. We check for corrosion, weak capacitors, and fouled coils as part of the diagnosis, because in this region those are causes rather than afterthoughts.
- Heat gets attention tooFurnace repair, heat pump reversing valve trouble, and heat strip failures all come through in the cooler months. Georgia homes lean on heat harder than Florida homes, and we service both ends of the region.
- No mystery invoicesYou hear what failed, what it takes to fix, and what we found nearby that may fail next. If a repair does not make sense on an old system, we say so instead of stacking parts on it.
- All major brands, gas & electricCarrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York and more, as an independent company.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
