The furnace symptoms we hear most
- The heat just quit overnight Failed ignitor, tripped safety limit or a lockout at the control board
- It blows, but the air is cool Burners not staying lit, flame sensor fouled, or heat strips out on an electric furnace
- It lights, runs a minute, then shuts off Short cycling from a dirty flame sensor, restricted airflow or a failing pressure switch
- I hear a click and then nothing happens Ignition or control circuit fault, bad transformer, or a thermostat signal not reaching the board
- There is a burning smell when the heat comes on Dust burn-off, a restricted filter, or an electrical problem in the blower or heat strips
Whether you call it furnace repair, heating repair or heater repair, the work is identical and so is the quote you approve first.
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1 Check the thermostat is set to heat with a temperature above the room reading, and swap the batteries if it has them.
- 2Look at the breaker panel for a tripped breaker on the furnace or air handler circuit and reset it once.
- 3Pull the filter and replace it if it is grey and packed, since a blocked filter trips heating safeties fast.
- 4Walk the house and confirm supply and return vents are open and not blocked by furniture or rugs.

My furnace will not turn on at all. What now?
Check the thermostat setting and batteries, then look for a tripped breaker on the furnace circuit. If both look fine, the fault is usually in the ignition system, a safety switch or the control board, and that needs a technician on site.
What if I smell gas near the furnace?
Leave the building right away, take everyone with you, and call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Do not flip switches or restart anything. Once the utility says the home is safe, call us and we will handle the repair.
Why does my furnace light and then shut back off?
That pattern usually means a safety control is stopping the burn. A fouled flame sensor, a dirty filter choking airflow, a weak pressure switch or a blocked flue are the common causes. We test the sequence to find which one is dropping out.
Is an electric furnace repair different from a gas one?
Yes. Electric systems use heat strips, sequencers, contactors and a high-amp circuit, so failures show up as partial heat or no heat with the blower running. Gas systems fail at ignition and safety controls. We repair both.
How long does a furnace repair take?
Most common repairs, like an ignitor, flame sensor, capacitor or sequencer, are done in one visit once we have diagnosed the fault. Control boards, blower motors and less common parts can mean a return trip if the part has to be ordered.
Should I repair the furnace or replace the system?
It depends on age, what failed and what else is worn. A single failed part on a sound system is worth repairing. Repeated failures, a cracked heat exchanger or a system near the end of its life push the conversation toward replacement, and we will say so plainly.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill out the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a clicking outdoor unit, water on the floor. Details help us load the right parts before we drive out.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical side, refrigerant behavior, and the coil. Coils foul fast in coastal air, so we look there early. You get the finding in plain language before work starts.
- Step 3
Repair and verify
We make the repair, then run the system and watch it. Supply temperature, drain flow, amp draw, and how the house actually feels. If the fix needs a follow-up part, we tell you that day.

Why homeowners call us
- Humidity gets equal weightCold air alone is not comfort. On slab homes and older condos, a system can hit temperature and still leave the rooms clammy. We look at run time, airflow, and drainage so the house dries out instead of just chilling.
- Coastal wear is expectedSalt air chews condenser fins and contactors. We check for corrosion, weak capacitors, and fouled coils as part of the diagnosis, because in this region those are causes rather than afterthoughts.
- Heat gets attention tooFurnace repair, heat pump reversing valve trouble, and heat strip failures all come through in the cooler months. Georgia homes lean on heat harder than Florida homes, and we service both ends of the region.
- No mystery invoicesYou hear what failed, what it takes to fix, and what we found nearby that may fail next. If a repair does not make sense on an old system, we say so instead of stacking parts on it.
