Questions Florida homeowners ask

My AC is cooling but the house feels sticky. Is that normal in Florida?

No, and it is one of the most common calls we get. A system that cools air without pulling enough moisture out will leave you clammy at 74 degrees. Usually it points to an oversized system short cycling, a dirty evaporator coil, a low refrigerant charge or a blower running too fast. Check that your filter is clean and every supply vent is open, then call us for air conditioner repair and we will measure what the system is actually removing.

How fast can you get someone out?

Most of the time we can reach Florida homeowners the same day or the next, and no-cooling calls in July move to the front of the line. Call and describe what you are hearing and seeing. If the outdoor unit is silent, if there is water around the air handler, or if a breaker keeps tripping, say so up front so we bring the right parts on the first trip.

Which parts of Florida do you cover?

We work across the state, Gulf side and Atlantic side, coastal and inland. The city pages below show where we run routes most often. If you do not see your town listed, call anyway. We cover Georgia as well, and our service area is wider than the list.

What should I have ready before the technician arrives?

Clear a path to the indoor air handler or furnace closet and to the outdoor unit, and move anything stacked against them. Have your thermostat set the way you normally run it so we can see the real behaviour. If you know roughly how old the system is or you have paperwork from a previous repair, set it out. Pets go in another room so the door can stay open.

How often do coils need cleaning near the coast?

More often than inland. Salt air and constant humidity foul outdoor coils fast, and a fouled coil makes the system work harder to move the same heat, which shows up as longer run times and higher bills before it shows up as a breakdown. You can safely clear leaves, grass clippings and shrub growth back from the outdoor unit yourself. Leave the coil cleaning and any electrical or refrigerant work to us.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill out the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a clicking outdoor unit, water on the floor. Details help us load the right parts before we drive out.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical side, refrigerant behavior, and the coil. Coils foul fast in coastal air, so we look there early. You get the finding in plain language before work starts.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then run the system and watch it. Supply temperature, drain flow, amp draw, and how the house actually feels. If the fix needs a follow-up part, we tell you that day.

Why homeowners call us

  • Humidity gets equal weightCold air alone is not comfort. On slab homes and older condos, a system can hit temperature and still leave the rooms clammy. We look at run time, airflow, and drainage so the house dries out instead of just chilling.
  • Coastal wear is expectedSalt air chews condenser fins and contactors. We check for corrosion, weak capacitors, and fouled coils as part of the diagnosis, because in this region those are causes rather than afterthoughts.
  • Heat gets attention tooFurnace repair, heat pump reversing valve trouble, and heat strip failures all come through in the cooler months. Georgia homes lean on heat harder than Florida homes, and we service both ends of the region.
  • No mystery invoicesYou hear what failed, what it takes to fix, and what we found nearby that may fail next. If a repair does not make sense on an old system, we say so instead of stacking parts on it.
  • All major brands, gas & electricCarrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York and more, as an independent company.
  • Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
