The indoor air quality symptoms we hear most
- The house feels clammy even when the AC is running Oversized system short cycling, or no dedicated dehumidification
- Dust is back on the shelves the day after I clean Filter bypass, leaky return ducts, or filtration too thin to catch fine particles
- There is a musty smell every time the air handler kicks on Wet coil, dirty drain pan, or biological growth in the cabinet
- My allergies are worse inside than outside Low grade filtration and unfiltered air pulled from attic or crawlspace
- Winter air is so dry my throat hurts and doors stick No whole-home humidifier, or an existing one not running with the heat
Search for it as indoor air quality work or air purifier installation and you land in the same place: one visit, one written quote.
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1Look at your thermostat settings and swap the batteries, making sure the fan is set to auto or on the way you intend and any humidity setting is where you want it.
- 2Check the breaker for the air handler and outdoor unit, since IAQ accessories often share power and stop working when a breaker trips.
- 3Pull the filter and hold it to the light. If it is grey and loaded, change it and note whether it fits the slot tight with no gaps around the edges.
- 4Walk the house and confirm supply and return vents are open and not blocked by furniture or rugs, then clear leaves and clippings back from the outdoor unit.

What indoor humidity should I aim for?
Most homes in our region feel best somewhere between 45 and 55 percent relative humidity. Above that, air feels heavy and growth becomes a risk. We measure yours during the visit and tell you whether the AC alone can hold it or a dehumidifier is warranted.
Will a better filter fix my dust problem?
Sometimes, but a thicker filter in a system with leaky returns just filters the wrong air. Duct leaks pull dust straight from the attic past your filter. We check duct connections and filter fit before recommending a media cabinet or purifier.
Do UV lights actually do anything?
UV lights installed at the coil help keep biological growth off the wet surfaces where it likes to start, which cuts musty smells. They do not replace filtration or humidity control. We size and place them to treat the coil and drain pan, not the whole room.
Why do I need a dehumidifier if the AC removes moisture?
An AC only dehumidifies while it runs. In mild weather or in a tight, well shaded home, the AC satisfies the thermostat fast and humidity creeps up. A whole-home dehumidifier runs independently and holds the level where you set it.
Do homes in the South ever need a humidifier?
Some do, mostly in Georgia and during cold snaps when heating dries the air out. Dry throats, static shocks and shrinking wood trim are the usual signs. We check your levels through a heating cycle before suggesting one.
Can IAQ equipment be added to the system I already have?
Usually yes. Purifiers, UV lights, dehumidifiers and fresh air ventilation tie into existing ductwork and controls. What matters is whether your air handler and duct sizing can carry the added equipment, which we verify on site before quoting anything.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill out the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a clicking outdoor unit, water on the floor. Details help us load the right parts before we drive out.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical side, refrigerant behavior, and the coil. Coils foul fast in coastal air, so we look there early. You get the finding in plain language before work starts.
- Step 3
Repair and verify
We make the repair, then run the system and watch it. Supply temperature, drain flow, amp draw, and how the house actually feels. If the fix needs a follow-up part, we tell you that day.

Why homeowners call us
- Humidity gets equal weightCold air alone is not comfort. On slab homes and older condos, a system can hit temperature and still leave the rooms clammy. We look at run time, airflow, and drainage so the house dries out instead of just chilling.
- Coastal wear is expectedSalt air chews condenser fins and contactors. We check for corrosion, weak capacitors, and fouled coils as part of the diagnosis, because in this region those are causes rather than afterthoughts.
- Heat gets attention tooFurnace repair, heat pump reversing valve trouble, and heat strip failures all come through in the cooler months. Georgia homes lean on heat harder than Florida homes, and we service both ends of the region.
- No mystery invoicesYou hear what failed, what it takes to fix, and what we found nearby that may fail next. If a repair does not make sense on an old system, we say so instead of stacking parts on it.
- All major brands, gas & electricCarrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York and more, as an independent company.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
