Can I keep my old thermostat wiring for a smart thermostat?
Sometimes. Many older systems have four or five wires and no dedicated common wire, which smart thermostats need for steady power. We check what is at the air handler as well as the wall, then either repurpose a spare conductor or add one.
How long does a thermostat replacement take?
A straight swap on matching wiring usually runs under an hour, including a full heating and cooling test. Adding a common wire, correcting mislabeled conductors, or setting up a multi stage heat pump takes longer because each stage gets verified.
Will a new thermostat lower my power bill?
A thermostat controls the equipment, it does not make it more efficient. Better scheduling and correct staging usually help, and honest humidity control makes a house feel cooler at a higher setpoint. We will not promise a number.
Do I need zoning or just a second thermostat?
A second thermostat only helps if there is separate equipment or a damper system to control. Zoning adds motorized dampers, a panel and a bypass or variable blower strategy. We look at your ductwork before recommending it.
Why does my thermostat show the wrong temperature?
