What electric furnace repair actually involves
Electric heat comes from resistance elements inside the air handler, each fed through a sequencer or relay and protected by a limit switch and fuse link. When one element fails you often still get some warm air, just never enough, so the system runs long and the house stays cool. We test each element and its control circuit under load, check amp draw against the nameplate, and confirm the blower is moving enough air across the coil. Repair usually means replacing a failed element, sequencer, contactor or limit, not the whole unit.
What we check on the call
We start at the thermostat and work back to the equipment. That means verifying the call for heat reaches the board, checking the breaker and disconnect for heat damage, inspecting the terminal block and wire lugs for burned insulation, and reading amp draw on every heat strip. We also look at the filter, return sizing and duct condition, because restricted airflow overheats elements and pops limits again and again. Near the coast we check the coil and cabinet for corrosion, since salt air shortens the life of connections and metal fast.
How we decide repair is the right call
We repair when the failure is one component and the rest of the equipment is sound, which is most electric heat calls. Elements, sequencers, relays and limits are straightforward parts, and replacing one on a healthy air handler makes sense. We talk about replacement when the cabinet and coil are badly corroded, when the blower motor and board are failing alongside the heat strips, or when the same limit keeps tripping because of a duct problem we can fix better with new equipment. You get the findings and your options, then you choose.

Why is my electric furnace blowing cool air?
Usually one or more heat strips are not energizing, from a failed element, sequencer or limit switch. A tripped breaker or a clogged filter can also cause it. Check those two, then call us for the rest.
Why does my heat keep tripping the breaker?
Repeated tripping often means a shorted element, a damaged wire lug or a breaker that has weakened from heat. Leave the breaker off and call us. Resetting it over and over risks further damage to the wiring.
Can you repair heat strips in an air handler with a heat pump?
Yes. In most homes across Florida and Georgia the electric heat sits in the air handler as backup for the heat pump. We test the strips, sequencers and controls, then repair whichever part failed.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill out the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a clicking outdoor unit, water on the floor. Details help us load the right parts before we drive out.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical side, refrigerant behavior, and the coil. Coils foul fast in coastal air, so we look there early. You get the finding in plain language before work starts.
- Step 3
Repair and verify
We make the repair, then run the system and watch it. Supply temperature, drain flow, amp draw, and how the house actually feels. If the fix needs a follow-up part, we tell you that day.

Why homeowners call us
- Humidity gets equal weightCold air alone is not comfort. On slab homes and older condos, a system can hit temperature and still leave the rooms clammy. We look at run time, airflow, and drainage so the house dries out instead of just chilling.
- Coastal wear is expectedSalt air chews condenser fins and contactors. We check for corrosion, weak capacitors, and fouled coils as part of the diagnosis, because in this region those are causes rather than afterthoughts.
- Heat gets attention tooFurnace repair, heat pump reversing valve trouble, and heat strip failures all come through in the cooler months. Georgia homes lean on heat harder than Florida homes, and we service both ends of the region.
- No mystery invoicesYou hear what failed, what it takes to fix, and what we found nearby that may fail next. If a repair does not make sense on an old system, we say so instead of stacking parts on it.
- All major brands, gas & electricCarrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York and more, as an independent company.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
